Gentle sleep foundations, right from the start.
A personalised, Norland Nanny and Sleep Consultant approach that gently shapes your newborn’s days and nights, building healthy sleep foundations from the very beginning. No sleep training, no cry-it-out, just calm, evidence-based guidance from someone who’s lived this too.
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
(You’re exhausted, and you’ve tried everything.)
Your baby has days and nights mixed up, wide awake at 2am, sleepy all day
Naps only happen on your chest, in the carrier, or in motion, never in the bassinet
Evenings disappear into the witching hour of crying and cluster feeding
The startle reflex wakes your baby the moment you lay them down
You’re drowning in conflicting advice from books, Instagram and well-meaning family
You’re running on fumes, and worried you’re already creating habits you’ll regret

PICTURE THIS INSTEAD
(Calmer days, longer stretches at night.)
Your newborn settling in the bassinet, napping without being held, with days and nights finally sorted out. And you, resting when your baby rests, confident you’re laying healthy sleep foundations from the start, not guessing in the dark.
MY METHOD
A gentle, four-part approach
The Sleep Environment - Optimising room temperature, light and sound so your newborn’s body naturally starts recognising the difference between day and night.
Sort Days and Nights - Gently resolving day-night confusion using light, feeding times, and realistic, age-appropriate wake windows.
Build Flexible Rhythms - Creating a gentle feeding and sleep routine that gives your days a predictable structure, without rigid schedules.
Practice Gentle Settling - Calm, low-pressure ways to lay your baby down awake to encourage independent sleep, with no sleep training and zero stress if they need extra comfort.
No. Sleep training isn’t appropriate for newborns. This is gentle sleep shaping: getting the environment, routine and day-night balance right so everything that comes later is easier. There’s no crying it out, ever.
Some fussing is normal for any small change, but this approach is built to minimise it. We get the environment, feeding rhythm and timing right first, and I’m with you throughout so you always know how and when to comfort your baby.
Every baby is different, but most families notice calmer days and longer stretches within one to two weeks of small, consistent changes. Newborns are still developing, so we’re working with their rhythm, not against it.
Yes, absolutely. Night feeds are completely normal and expected at this age. This isn’t about reducing feeds, it’s about helping your baby, and you, get better quality sleep around them.
Yes. Room-sharing is safe and recommended for the first six months, and everything I suggest works whether your baby is in a bassinet beside your bed
Any time from late pregnancy onwards. Some parents like to prepare before the baby arrives, others reach out at two weeks, six weeks or twelve weeks. There’s no wrong time, just whenever you’re ready for some calm, honest guidance.
Emily has been a real life saver.
Emily has been a real life saver. My twin boys’ sleep had got really bad, they were waking up to 11 times a night each and not at the same time. By the end of our two weeks working together they were waking 1-2 times and often at the same time. We are now out of survival mode and life is so different, so much nicer!

Emily has equipped us with the tools to adapt Olivia’s sleep plan as she gets older.
Emily was fantastic from the start, it was very much a two way conversation and personalised to our family. Over the course of the two weeks, Olivia’s sleep progressively improved and she is now consistently sleeping through the night. Emily has equipped us with the tools to adapt Olivia’s sleep plan as she gets older.
